Team Isiah Foundation Donates to Howard University Hospital and the Children's Hospitals of Richmond and Los Angeles
The Team Isiah Foundation was blessed recently to donate items to the Howard University Hospital Boarder Babies Program ,The Children's Hospital of Richmond and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. The donations of a large screen television, Xbox, games and Team Isiah Foundation backpacks were made possible by the generous donations of Owens & Minor. We offer our sincere thanks to them for making this possible.
Team Isiah Foundation Hosts 2nd Annual Dinner for Patients and their Families at Children's Inn at NIH
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted the 2nd annual dinner for patients and their families at the Children's Inn at NIH. Team Isiah partnered with Mamma Lucia's Restaurant, Wegman's and Costco for this event and we greatly appreciate their food and gift card donations. Thanks again to the awesome staff at the Children's Inn at NIH for hosting us and family Team Isiah friends Monique and Justin for their help in preparing and serving the patients and their families. We look forward to doing it again next year!
The 2nd Annual Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic
Isiah was asked by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) to be the "honored hero" for the 2nd Annual Ryan Kerrigan Leukemia Golf Classic, which was held at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia on May 16, 2016. The event raised over $570,000 for the LLS, which plays a significant part in raising much needed funds to fight Leukemia and other blood cancers.Isiah assisted Ryan Kerrigan from the Washington Redskins in kicking off the golf tournament. He also had the privilege of telling his personal story during the evening event (a dinner reception and auction). Isiah raised awareness of the challenges that young cancer patients often face and also how he has dealt with his ongoing treatment.
Team Isiah Foundation Sponsors Five Children to Attend Quinn Cook's Basketball Camp
The Team Isiah Foundation was blessed to sponsor five children to attend Quinn Cook's basketball camp, which was held August 9-11 in Upper Marlboro, MD. Quinn is from the local area, attended Duke University (where he and his teammates won an NCAA basketball title), and he is currently a member of the NBA World Champion Golden State Warriors. The young men, who ranged in age from 8 to 14, had a great time, learned a lot and also were able to meet and take pictures with Quinn. They were recommended to us by Howard University and Georgetown University Hospitals.
Kerrigan's Korner Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Medstar Georgetown Pediatric Hematology Oncology Unit
The Team Isiah Foundation participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of "Kerrigan's Korner" funded by Ryan Kerrigan's Blitz For Better Foundation) at Medstar Georgetown's Pediatric Hematology Oncology unit. The Kerrigan's Korner will provide children and their families access to electronics during their clinic visits. Team Isiah Foundation introduced the hospital to Ryan and initially proposed the idea of a Kerrigan's Korner at Medstar Georgetown. Team Isiah Foundation donated an Xbox One gaming system as well.
Team Isiah Foundation Honors GUH Doctors and Justin Shim
The Team Isiah Foundation recently honored Georgetown University Hospital Pediatric Oncologists Dr. Corina Gonzalez and Dr. Helkha Peredo-Pinto for providing excellent care to children with cancer. We also honored cancer survivor Justin Shim for his fundraising efforts to help the Team Isiah Foundation over the past year. Justin is a member of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and he raised money for both Team Isiah and the AJGA via his golf tournaments.
Team Isiah Foundation Serves Breakfast at Children's Inn at NIH and Makes Donation to Howard University Hospital
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted breakfast for some of the patients and their families at the Children's Inn at NIH. Team Isiah partnered with Costco for this event and we greatly appreciate their generous donation. Thanks again to the awesome staff at the Children's Inn at NIH for hosting us and family Team Isiah friends Monique and Justin for their help in preparing and serving the patients and their families. We look forward to doing it again next year!
Team Isiah Foundation also games (traditional and video), toys and books to the Howard University Hospital CARES program, which provides services and resources to HIV infected children (and their families). Team Isiah Foundation Hosts Bowling Party for Cancer Survivors at Georgetown Pinstripes Bowling
On January 2, 2018, the Team Isiah Foundation hosted a bowling party for cancer survivors and their families. Thanks to everyone who attend and helped to make this event a success. Team Isiah Foundation would like to extend a special thanks to Georgetown Pinstripes, Bruce Allen and the Washington Redskins (for donating signed footballs) and Derek and Kathy McCoy (for donating Under Armour water bottles).
The Annual Just Tryan It Triathlon
Team Isiah Foundation has participated in multiple Just Tryan It Annual Triathlons, which are held at the Landon School in Bethesda, MD. Isiah was one of the cancer survivors asked to serve as a STAR (meaning some of the participants ran in his honor). He spoke at the most recent Triathlon and also handed out medals and thanked the participants as they finished the race.The Just Tryan It foundation is an organization that provides assistance to families of children who have cancer.
Team Isiah Foundation Visits to Sinai Hospital and The Children's Inn at NIH
The Team Isiah Foundation recently visited the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and The Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). We were able to meet the doctors and staff who provide treatment to the children at Sinai's Alfred I Coplan Pediatric Hematology Oncology Outpatient Center. Team Isiah Foundation also donated an Xbox One S gaming system and a laptop computer to the Outpatient Center.
Team Isiah Foundation also visited The Children's Inn at NIH and met several of their staff who coordinate and deliver programs for children and their families. The Children's Inn at NIH provides temporary housing and programming for children (and their families) who are being treated for various life threatening illnesses at the many medical facilities that are part of NIH. Team Isiah Foundation also donated an Xbox One S gaming system along with video games, movies and gift cards (courtesy of Shoppers Food Warehouse).

Team Isiah Foundation Hosts Mini-Golf Event for Cancer Survivors
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted a mini-golf event for cancer survivors in at Upton Regional Park in Arlington, VA. Six cancer survivors and about 20 family members and friends attended the event where they tried their hand at mini-golf and enjoyed snacks and refreshments.
Team Isiah Foundation Hosts Bone Marrow Drive at Walter Johnson High School and Assists Be The Match at Howard University and University of Maryland
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted a Bone Marrow Drive at Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, MD as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) "Pennies for Patients" 5K Run.
Team Isiah Foundation also joined "Be The Match" for their Bone Marrow Drives at Howard Universiy as well as the University of Maryland (College Park). Thanks to all those that attended both events and especially the many students who registered as potential bone marrow donors!
Team Isiah Foundation Hosts Bone Marrow Drive at St. Albans School
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted a Bone Marrow Drive at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. Special thanks to St. Albans School for allowing us to hold the event there and to the young men in the STA Class of 2018 who joined the National Bone Marrow Registry.
Team Isiah Foundation Hosts Dinner for Patients and Their Families at The Children's Inn at NIH
The Team Isiah Foundation recently hosted a family dinner for over 70 children and their families at the Children's Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It was great meeting and talking to the children and their families. They were happy to see us and even happier to eat the meal (which included pizza, salad, chicken and pasta for dinner as well as cake and brownies for dessert).
An extra special thanks goes out to the Mamma Lucia's in Bethesda MD for helping to sponsor the meal! Special thanks also goes out to the very accommodating staff at Children's Inn for allowing us the opportunity to serve and helping us coordinate the dinner. Last but not least, Team Isiah Foundation salutes fellow cancer survivor Justin Shim and his Mom Monique for helping to prepare and serve dinner. We could NOT have done it without you!

Team Isiah Foundation Awards Scholarships to Cancer Survivors
Team Isiah Foundation recently awarded $500 scholarships to three cancer survivors. They are all pursuing undergraduate degrees in their respective fields of study. Mykiel was treated at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore while Justin and Charlotte were treated at Georgetown University Hospital. Each scholarship was awarded in loving memory of our cancer heroes, Cameron T. Brooks, Nolan Scully and Jack Kennedy.
Team Isiah Foundation Kickoff Luncheon
The Team Isiah Foundation hosted its kickoff luncheon on Sunday for several of the children that we have met through Isiah's treatment at Georgetown University Hospital and their families. We were blessed to be able to distribute small financial gifts and sports memorabilia (courtesy of Ryan Kerrigan's foundation) to the children.
